GIRL SCOUTS BADGE PROGRAM

Metropolitan Equestrian invites you to a one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning experience where Scouts can complete their official Girl Scouts Horse Badge through fun, educational, and interactive activities centered around equine care and outdoor discovery.

Our program is offered in two formats—Unmounted and Mounted—tailored to meet the needs of every troop. Both options follow the official Girl Scouts badge curriculum and are designed to create lasting memories and build confidence around horses.

  • Welcome & Orientation: Troops are greeted and introduced to our staff, barn rules, and safety procedures.

  • Horsemanship Education: Scouts learn how to safely approach, groom, and care for horses. Topics include feeding, basic anatomy, tack and equipment, and stable management.

  • Interactive Activities: Depending on the program, Scouts will rotate through hands-on stations, including grooming, horse care, and leading exercises.

  • Mounted Riding Session: Scouts will experience a beginner-friendly riding lesson, guided by trained instructors.

  • Badge Curriculum Wrap-Up: The day concludes with a discussion that ties in the badge requirements and a Q&A session. Each Scout leaves with new knowledge—and memories that last a lifetime!
